Falls: looking through brick to photograph
2010 / 2022
chrome tripod, cinderblock, found photograph, graphite, soot ink
60” x 8” x 12”
*A viewer looking through the brick can see only a portion of the photograph mounted on the wall. Seen in full, the photograph shows a waterfall and is meant to be viewed vertically. In “Falls,” the photograph has been mounted horizontally, and in this orientation, the water suggests a rushing river moving horizontally across the frame rather than a waterfall.
